Golf course – several basic elements of a golf course: tee box, fairway, green, hole cup and hazard area (including rough, water, bunker, etc.). The player tees off from the tee, sends the ball to the green through the fairway and hazard areas, and finally makes it fall into the hole cup on the green to complete a game, which is called a hole (Figure 1). Eighteen holes with the same elements but different difficulty designs are combined to form a standard golf course (Figure 2).

Usually a standard golf course consists of 4 short holes, 4 long holes, and 10 medium holes.
A standard fairway consists of the following parts:

(1) Tee-box: The first hitting place for tee shots in the fairway. Generally, there are Tee-Marks on both sides (indicating the front line where golf is allowed). The distance from the back of the mark line is within twice the length of the club. It is a teeing area; in order to be used by different golfers and to make the fairway yardage more flexible.
Kim Tee Pro Player Tee;
Black Tee Single Handicap Players Tee;
Blue Tee Youth Competition Tee;
White Tee tee for amateur men;
Red Tee Women’s Tee.
(2) Fairway: the best hitting route from the tee to the green, the best area for lawn grooming
(3) Rough area: Located on both sides of the fairway area, in front of the tee box and behind the green, the length of the grass is more than twice as long as the fairway area. Once the ball falls into this area, it is very difficult to find and hit the ball.
(4) Weed area: Located on the outside of the rough area. In general, except for the above-mentioned areas, the other areas with grass in the golf course are all weed areas; in addition to serving as a penalty for players to hit the ball, the weed area , in addition, vegetation of different heights can be used as a safe isolation between fairways.

(5) Obstacle facilities (Hazard): Obstacle facilities on the fairway are generally bunkers, pools, channels or large plants.
(6) Planting: In addition to beautifying the landscape and providing safety isolation, the planting configuration of the golf course also has the ecological function of soil and water conservation.
(7) Green: It is the area where the hole is located, that is, where the ball will be driven. It is usually located at the end of the fairway, on a slightly undulating terrain; the green is generally in an irregular shape.
